At Leveret Paperie, all of the custom work we create is designed around your vision and the colors and theme/aesthetic of your wedding or event. The process begins with an email conversation between you and Heather, the artist and designer, where you can explain what you would like your custom design to include and what quantity you need.
From there Heather will give you a custom design quote and timeline for your order. The custom quote will confirm the items you're interested in, design direction, quantities, costs, and deadlines. At this point, we will ask you for a 50% non-refundable deposit to beign working on your project.
To get this email conversation started, click here to fill out our custom design inquiry form.
Next, we'll get started on the fun part - creating your unique design! As part of the design process, we ask our brides to send us any inspiration images that they have from magazines, blogs, or websites (hooray for Pinterest!). While the invitation Heather will design for you will ultimately be one of a kind, seeing your inspiration helps us to get a feel for your likes and the vision you have of your wedding. If necessary, Heather will create a "mood board" that will be a collection of images that reflect the theme and feel of your wedding, and will give you a sense of what Heather is thinking about in terms of colors and vision. While your invitation illustrations will ultimately be different than the mood board, we feel that getting your comments on the board can be helpful to us in further understanding your likes and vision.
After that, comes the design sketch. Heather will do a basic sketch of your stationery, which will show you the layout and colors and give you a sense of how everything will look in the final version. We'll ask you for input on the sketch, and have a discussion with you about how the sketch compares to your vision. The price of your invitation includes two revisions to the sketch, so you'll be free to make any changes you like without worrying about the cost.
After you have approved the sketch, Heather will paint the final version of your wedding invitation and put together a proof for you. Once you receive the final version, you will again have two revisions included in the cost of the invitation to tweak anything you would like changed. Because you will have seen and approved the sketch at this point, we generally find that any changes to the final are minor such as wording or spacing changes or minor color tweaks. Of course, additional revisions are possible, and they are billed at the rate of $75 per hour.
Once you have approved the final design, the balance payment of 50% of the total cost of the project will be due. Once payment is received, we will print and ship your custom stationery!
We want you to love your invitation and any other custom products you order from us, which is why we encourage communication with our brides at all points in the process. If you ever have any questions about the process, just ask! Below are some answers to frequent questions we receive.
How much do custom designs cost?
Everything is priced out based on the specifics of what your design will be, how in depth the design is, how many printed pieces you will need and what quantity you will need. Custom design packages start at $1000.
How long do custom desgins take?
Custom designs generally take 6 - 12 weeks to complete. Turnaround time is partially based on how quickly proofs are approved which affects the date the files can be sent to the printer.

I found a design I love on Pinterest. Can you recreate it for me?
I am happy to take inspirational cues on colors, fonts, design elements and layouts, but I cannot replicate someone else’s designs for you. I would love to help you create something completely your own though.

What is the process of ordering a custom design?
A full explanation of the custom design process can be found above. The mini-version is this:
1. Contact Leveret Paperie to get the conversation started about what you’re looking for, how many you need and any other details you’d like to discuss. I will get back to you with any questions I have and also a design quote.
2. After receiving an initial deposit of 50% (if you prefer to pay in full up front that’s fine too), I will begin working on a custom sketch based on the details you provided. The sketch will include colors and layout options. Up to 3 rounds of proofing is included in the cost.
3. Once the sketch is approved, I will paint your invitations in watercolor and will send you a digital proof with the painted artwork. Up to 3 rounds of proofing is included in the cost.
4. After you have approved your final proof and paid the final balance, the cards will be printed and shipped to you.
Can you paint me a custom map?
I would love to paint you a custom map. If it is part of your wedding invitation package the pricing is slightly different than if you just want the map by itself. Please email me with full details and I can get you a quote.
